Submarine cable section
A section of submarine cable. Cylindrical with a metal band around each end. The consists of seven copper conductors surrounded by layers of gutta percha and tarred hemp. The outer sheathing consists of ten galvanised iron wires covered with tarred hemp and Chatterton's compound.
