Tankard: Port Line
A pewter tankard used by the Port Line shipping company. The tankard has a stepped foot, a wide base narrowing to a smaller lip with a slightly squared handle. On the front of the tankard is a enamel bronze medallion, with a blue enamel quarter where the words "PORT LINE" are stamped. A pre 1801 Union flag. There is a simple double line decoration above and bel0ow the medallion. Inscribed on the base are the words "LEWIS, ROSE & CO, ENGLISH PEWTER, MADE IN ENGLAND". There is some very slight surface scratching, the enamel on the lower edge of the badge is slightly chipped. A small part of the foot of the tankard is damaged.
