Walking stick
A black-painted wooden walking stick with a silver head presented to Commander John Robert Woodriff (1790-1868). A silk tassel is still attached. The head is engraved: 'From Capt...Dobson R.N. to Lieut. J.R. Woodriff R.N. as a mark of public approbation as an officer and private esteem as a friend.'
