A book of Common Prayer and New Testament

Leather bound prayer book belonging to Fanny H. Hood. A Book of Common Prayer and New Testament bound in black leather with gilt metal corners and a clasp. It has marbled endpapers and there are pressed flowers in the front and back pages. Inscriptions and prayers in ink on the flyleaf and with two blue ribbon markers. The title on the spine is:' Church services'. The clasp is inscribed with a baron's coronet and 'Fanny H. Hood of Avalon'. On the flyleaf: ' For dear Mama. From Fanny Sophia Hood with best love and kisses April the 8th 1871'.'19 Queen's Gate Place (in another hand) 'This rose given me by dearest Fan on my birthday 8th April 1894'.
