Holy Bible

A bible belonging to William Webb AB b. 1886. A leather-bound bible containing Old and New Testaments. Inside the cover, a paper label printed 'HMS Lion' and inscribed in ink: ' Presented to W. Webb on leaving the ship. G.R. Borthwick, Chaplain 1905' [2 October 1905]. In pencil on the flyleaf: 'Mr Wm. Webb, 22 Salisbury St., Burden Rd., Bow, London E., England.' In pencil in the back (side cover): 'Mr William Webb, HMS Glory, Wei Hi Wei, China 1904-5.' The bible was printed for the Naval and Military Bible Society.
