H.M.S. 'Canopus' main truck
Main truck HMS 'Canopus' 1897. Label: 'Main truck of HMS Canopus shot down in action at the Dardanelles 2nd March 1915'. A copper rod. On 2nd March 1915, 'Canopus' took part in the second attack on the Turkish forts at the entrance to the Dardanelles. Enemy fire tore off her main topmast and damaged her after funnel and wardroom.
