Medal cast
Two casts obverse and reverse of a commemorative medal . Obverse: Bust of Lieutenant-Admiral Maarten Harpertszoon Tromp, between palm branches, and trophies, two infant genii hold a crown above his head. On a band: 'myn hert en handt was voor het landt'. Reverse: Action between Dutch and English ship. Legend: 'Tromp driemaal in dit Jaar verlaten is in noot. Syn ronde goedigheit was oorzaak van fyn doot. den 10 Augusti, 1653'. (Three times was Tromp forsaken in his hour of need this year. His openheartedness was the cause of his death.)
