Sectional model; Equipment model
Scale possibly 1:24. A midship sectional model showing a sliding keel (1795) complete with its case and winding mechanisms. The part of the casing located above the main deck has been painted red whilst the racheted cogs, handles and mounts are made in brass. The wooden keel is secured to the winding mechanism by cat gut thread. The model is inscribed "Sliding Keel (No96)." There is also a paper label with "No7".
