HMS Alexandra (1875); Warship; Battleship

Scale: 1:48. A half block model of the port side of the battleship HMS Alexandria (1875), made entirely in wood and painted pink-brown below the waterline, a narrow white stripe above and black above the waterline with a white gunwale. Hull details include a ram bow; a large gun forward mounting inset; rows of square portholes and gunports; central battery; port bilge keel; rudder; and port propeller shaft casing. Other fittings include stump bowsprit, foremast, mainmast and mizzen mast, and two lozenge-shaped funnels, painted ochre. The model is displayed on a backboard painted off-white with a mahogany-stained frame.
