Scale: 1:48. A half block model of the port side of the armoured frigates HMS Nelson (1876) and HMS Northampton (1876), made entirely in wood and painted duck-egg green below the waterline, a narrow white stripe above and black above the waterline. Hull details include a reinforced ram bow; two large inset gun mountings fore and aft; four rectangular gunports amidships; rudder; and port propeller shaft casing. Other fittings include stump bowsprit, and two funnels, painted black. The model is displayed on a backboard painted off-white with a mahogany-stained frame. On plaque attached to right-hand side of backboard ‘Nelson & Northampton’.
