Bayrupert (1926); Cargo vessel
Scale: 1:48. A half plating model of the starboard side of the general cargo ship Bayrupert (1926) made entirely in wood and painted off-white. The plates, bulkheads, decks, some fittings and other technical and construction information are inscribed in black penwork on the model. The hull is flat-bottomed, straight-sided with a forecastle and midship bulwark. There is a rudder and provision for a single propeller. The model is displayed on a rectangular mahogany backboard. On plaque attached to the left-hand side of the backboard ‘ "SS Bayrupert" built by Ardrossan Dockyard Ltd. Ardrossan. Length BP 320' 0" Breadth 51' 0" Depth MLD 31' 3" 1926’.
