Warship; Frigate; 60 guns

Scale: Unknown. Half hull model of the starboard side of a 60-gun frigate (circa 1827), showing the diagonal iron rider and thick strakes wrought on the heads and heals of the timbers and the truss work between the ports. The model is finished and realistically painted on the starboard side. The model is white below the waterline with bright yellow ochre above and black topping. There is an off-white band connecting the gun ports on the gun deck. 15 gun ports are depicted on the gun deck, with closed lids and hinged from below.

The inboard timbers have been stained a dark brown with only the inboard main deck painted cream and the inside of the gun ports painted red. A paper label is attached to the inboard main deck marked "12". The truncated lateral deck beams and supporting iron frames of three decks are depicted. At the bottom of the hull the starboard side of the main mast step has been shown.

The model is displayed on a plain black painted and bevelled wooden baseboard, and is supported by a single crutch below the starboard hull, placed in the middle of the model.
