Warship

Scale: Unknown. Model of a midship section of an iron-cased warship made entirely of wood. The hull is painted a dark green below the waterline with the upperworks finished in a matt black. The hull is pierced with six gunports, the openings of which have been painted red. Internally the model is painted a battleship grey through and is made up of a series of frames, deck beams and longitudinal riders and beams. At either side of the lower deck is a reinforced triangular section connecting the deck beams to the ship's side while the deck above is supported by individual angled pillars. The upper deck is complete with deck beams which are capped with a wooden bulwark on either side. On both sides of the hull are removable sections to illustrate the size and composition of each armoured plate.
