Small craft; Boat

Scale: Not to scale. A model of a double-ended Maltese boat. The depicted vessel is carvel-built, two-masted and the hull is painted bright blue below the waterline, bright green on, and above, the keel and varnished elsewhere. The bulwarks are painted with bright blue rectangular panels with black edging on two sides, two rows of gold beaded decoration and, between the rows, black outline scroll-work. On midship bulwarks "345". The bottom of the boat has been painted in a red and blue decorative geometric pattern. The two masts are rigged and have bright blue-painted tops. There are the remains of glue where the yards have been attached to the masts, currently stowed on deck with attached furled sails. The standing rigging is shown. The high stem and stern posts are decoratively shaped. The rudder has an integral tiller arm. The model is displayed on a simple lozenge-shaped plywood baseboard On shaped wooden panel applied to baseboard "Malta".
