Scale: 1:36. A full hull model of a Chinese chicken sampan made entirely in wood with metal and organic material fittings. The depicted vessel is single-masted with a single square sail set. The hull is flat-bottomed, a tapering square, chisel-shaped bow, open stern, wide rubbing strakes and bulwarks at the port and starboard bows and stern quarters. Fittings include an anchor with a length of rope, pair of occuli, a steering oar rigged over the stern and a large rudder. In the NMM's Waters Collection of negatives (PR1961/12) negatives numbers P34493 to P34495 inclusive are of this model.
