Silk picture

Printed silk mourning picture featuring Britannia, a veil covering her bowed head, leaning against a plinth with a bust of Nelson. The plinth has the inscription: 'Sacred to the Memory of Nelson Obt 21 Oct. 1805'. Grouped around the monument are the trophies of war, while Neptune’s trident lies at Britannia’s feet. The image is black ink, printed on silk, in a glazed gilt frame. This would have been a mass produced mourning picture.
