Trinity House uniform: pattern 1879

Elder Brother of Trinity House's cocked hat belonging to Sir Francis Leopold McClintock (1819-1907). Folding hat.

The Bretheren of Trinity House were all expert mariners and had close links with the navy, merchant fleet and organisations such as the East India Company. They wore a smart uniform while on duty, including this cocked hat.
