Her Majesty's Indian Naval uniform: pattern 1843

Commodore's cocked hat in a metal box. Black silk plush over fur felt body with two flaps bound in gold lace. Black silk cockade, looped with six gold bulllions, the two centre ones twisted, with an Indian Navy button (rope twist edge, within a raised circular border on a lined background is a lion standing on the left hind leg holding something in the fore-legs, above a fouled anchor) at the bottom. There is a tassle of five gold and five blue bullions at each end of the flaps in the fold. The inside of the brim is lined with tan leather.
