Wind finding instrument - aircraft

Liquid compass
Instrument consists of a square piece of perspex (?) 6.0" x 6.0" (15.2 x 15.2 cm) which is inscribed with numerous horizontal lines. At centre is attached a brass alidade 12" (30.5cm) long, which is graduated from centre 0-80 in each direction. Mounted on a hollow brass rectangualar frame, one side of which is graduated 10-190. At one end of frame is secured a moveable brass arm.
