Sword
Light cavalry type sword. The hilt consists of a straight stirrup guard, plain pommel and an ivory grip with a fouled anchor inset. The blade is plain and curved. The scabbard is black leather fitted with two gilt lockets and a chape. There is an inscription engraved on the top of the scabbard: 'Read, Cutler, Portsmouth'. This sword forms part of the Spinney Collection. It was received with fifteen other swords, five dirks and three pistols (AAA3114.12.2, AAA3115).
