Pocket chronometer, with cross-detent escapement invented by James Peto. Peto, a pupil of Earnshaw's who later worked for Brockbank, evolved the escapement in an attempt to combine the better points of both Earnshaw's and Arnold's designs. 3-arm compensated balance with flat steel spring. Watch paper of P Kreutz, Hoxton. Casemaker's initials TG.
