Marine Chronometer from Franklin's expedition, 8-day movement, Arnold spring-detent escapement and later balance. Mounted in original bowl, to which carrying handle and four ball feet have been added, converting it into a travelling timepiece. Engraved silvered brass dial, showing signs of alterations to signature in 'Arnold' region.
