Dry compass

Card: The paper band is supported by the metal circumference and by fine silk threads. The paper is white with black markings graduated to quarter points and quadrantally in degrees.

Needle: The four needles in 2 sets of 2, are suspended beneath the card by an independent silk thread system. Length 2.75" and 2.0" (7 cm and 5.2 cm)

Pivot: Consists only of an aluminium washer which holds the silk threads.
