NMM, Progress Book, volume 6, folio 229, states that 'Vernon' was docked at Sheerness Dockyard on 29 October 1840, undocked on 10 November, and sailed on 14 March 1841 having been fitted for sea. Most of the money was spent on the rigging and stores.
