Sold-Libellensextant

The sextant has a casing of grey-lacquered aluminium and artificial materials, with black plastic fittings. It houses optical equipment, a clockwork averaging mechanism, electrical equipment, and a rubber eyecup. The instrument has two index shades in red and green.

The scale on the sextant is measured from 0° to 80° by 30 arcminutes.

The sextant is contained in a rectangular black-lacquered metal carrying case with a reflecting flat, a battery charger, a battery, two light bulbs, four others of which are missing, and a contents list in German. The telescope and suspension strap are missing. The carrying case is marked on the side, ‘Sold-Libellensextant M [eagle & swastika]’.
