1. Meridian Line
With one foot in the east and one in the west, this is the ultimate Greenwich Instagram. Snap your feet next to the name of your home city, or even get a picture of you leaping over the line, if you’re feeling ambitious.
2. Tulip Stairs
The bright blue stairs, elegantly curving up into the white light, the Tulip Stairs at the Queen’s House will bring an air of elegance to your grid.
As the first geometric self-supporting spiral staircase in Britain, it’s culturally important too. Who said Instagram couldn’t do clever?
3. Cherry Blossom
When spring has sprung there’s nowhere else to be but Greenwich Park. Head to the top of the park, past the Observatory, and towards the Ranger's House. Here you'll find the footpath with blossom trees on both sides, creating a pink canvas above, and the perfect spot for a blossomy selfie.
4. View from the Hill
Mixing the old with the new, the view from the top of the hill in Greenwich Park is an Instagrammer's dream.
With the Old Royal Naval College set dramatically against the backdrop of Canary Wharf, don’t miss getting a pic of this view.
Besides – if this picture is to go by, who knows how it might change in the years to come.
5. Top deck of Cutty Sark
There are 11 miles of rigging on Cutty Sark, which no doubt contributed to making it the fastest ship of its day. These days the ship might not be travelling around the world, but the rigging does make for a good Instagram.
Pose behind the wheel, or look out over the River Thames, pretending you're on the high seas.
6. Ship in a Bottle
Did you know there’s a huge piece of contemporary art in Greenwich?
Yinka Shonibare CBE created Nelson’s Ship in a Bottle for the fourth plinth project in Trafalgar Square in 2010 and it now has a permanent home at the National Maritime Museum.
It’s one of the most photographed artworks in London, so you won’t want to be the only one without a snap, will you?
7. Great Hall
A perfect cube, a gold leaf ceiling, and the site of many a royal party, the Great Hall in the Queen’s House is a beautiful spot for a photo.
Stand in the middle of the floor and get a shot from the balcony above, capture the Richard Wright designed ceiling, or gaze at the view from the windows, like the queen you truly are.
8. Greenwich Market
Fed up of Instagramming boring lunches? Bowls of cereals not getting you enough likes? Get down to Greenwich Market and spruce up your feed with something a bit more tasty – from churros and burritos to burgers and beers, you’ll have everyone drooling over your feed.
9. Under the hull
With its long straight lines and tons of natural light pouring in, under the hull of the Cutty Sark is an Instagrammer's dream. Get to know the figurehead collection and capture the gleaming hull of the ship, perfectly preserved.
