Gain an insight of the treasures of the collection with a tour of the stores at the Prince Philip Maritime Collections centre.
On this personal and fun experience, you will explore the hidden treasures of the collection.
Come face to face with the intriguing stories relating to the Titanic, Antarctic expeditions, naval battles as well as some lesser known narratives.
Our specialist tour guides will lead you through a sprinkling of the 2.5 million objects and archives we have across our sites.

‘Wrens in Wartime and Beyond’

Join maker, historian, and Caird Research Fellow Dr Jo Horton, as she tells stories about the brave adaptable Women’s Royal Navy Service and the part uniform played in the war effort. Come and see a range of uniforms up close and personal and discover what it meant to be a woman in the Royal Navy.
If you love fashion, textiles, costume, and history, whatever your age, this event is for you!
This special tour also includes a display of creative work by young designers from UK universities, who have responded to Wrens (WRNS) uniform in the context of changing society and experiences, during and after wartime.

‘South Asian Heritage Tour’

In advance of South Asian Heritage month (Monday 18th July to Wednesday 17th August 2022), We are taking a dive into the collection centre to show case and investigate some of the objects of South Asian History.
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, The Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Every single one of those countries has been hugely impacted by its relationship with Britain. Join us on a journey as we travel around these intriguing and cultured nations through the museum’s collection.

Tours are fully wheelchair accessible.
Tours will abide by current Government guidelines in regards to COVID-19.
These tours have been specifically designed for adults but we will accept younger enthusiasts of history, conservation, and heritage.
The Prince Philip Maritime Collections Centre is a quick, easy journey from central London by rail or via local bus services.
By train: You can reach us from central London via direct routes by Cannon Street London Bridge, Charing Cross and Victoria. Our nearest station is Kidbrooke which is only 5 minute walk away.
By bus: The following buses stop near the Prince Philip Maritime Collections Centre: 178, B16, 286, 132
