Slip case containing correspondence received upon Hamilton's death
Navy blue leather slip case contains instructions from Queen Victoria to Baron Stockmar with regard to the conveyance of sympathy to Smithett upon the death of Hamilton, and subsequent letter from Stockmar to Smithett. Also contains letter of condolence on behalf of the King of Belgium.
