Fisher and Lilley family papers
There is a very interesting series of letters from Thomas Fisher to his brother George, a hairdresser of Leadenhall Street. The latter was a trustee of the young Lilley family, to whom the log of the LINCOLNSHIRE and the journal and passenger ticket for the HAMPSHIRE relate.
Administrative / biographical background
Thomas Fisher (b.1808) and George Fisher (1810-1899) were sons of Captain William Fisher, a Limehouse seaman and shipowner. Thomas appears to have gone to sea, but after illness took up residence in the Sandwich Islands and became a carpenter.
