In the Royal Navy : 1941-1945 /Roland Hindmarsh.
This autobiography recounts the author's experiences as a sailor in the Royal Navy during the latter part of the Second World War. Written in a loose narrative style, the book provides close descriptions of Hindmarsh's time in recruit training, and his service in HMS Manchester in Atlantic convoys, and later the submarine service, particularly in operation of the Chariot Mark II human torperdo, with extensive detail about day-to-day life in the Navy.
