Biography of Count Felix von Luckner, most well-known for commanding the German merchant raider sailing ship SMS Seeadler during World War I. The book briefly recounts von Luckner's early life of globetrotting before joining the German Imperial Navy and assuming captaincy of the Seeadler, and focuses particularly on the period in which the ship broke through the English blockade of the North Sea and spent some 225 days in the Atlantic and Pacific capturing and sinking Allied ships, evading capture, before its own eventual sinking. Includes eight pages of black and white plates.
