To the left, viewed from abaft the starboard beam, a ship under courses, topsails, topgallants, spritsail, spritsail topsail and main topmast staysail. Another ship ahead of her also with topgallants set.

This is an unsigned pencil drawing by the Younger.

A correction has been made in pen and brown ink to the waterline of the ship on the right.
