Garthpool

This watercolour shows the barque Garthpool from the port bow with all of her sails set. The three forward masts carry square sails, and the aftermost mast is fore-and-aft rigged. Three jib sails are set ahead of the foremast. She is flying two flags, which are possibly those of the shipping company that owned her and the Canadian merchant flag. Figures are visible towards the bow. The portrait is signed by the artist in the bottom left corner.
