Attempting to put out to sea Athens
This drawing shows the Athens (1856) in Table Bay. Written in the left background is what looks like Blaauberg, a location just north of Cape Town. The Athens was wrecked in Table Bay between Mouille Point and Green Point on 17 May 1865 while attempting to put to sea in a north-west gale.
