Seascape from the 'Umberleigh'

A sketch of a three-masted sailing ship from the deck of the 'Umberleigh'. The ship is shown in the distance towards the horizon, broadside to port, moving through a sea with a moderate swell. The green-grey tones of the sea indicate the ship is sailing in cold waters. The sky is shown as a mass of cloud tinged pink, with a small piece of sky visible towards the top of the painting. Everett sailed in the steamer, 'Umberleigh', from Barry, Wales to Vancouver in December 1933 and returned in March 1934. The painting is inscribed 'Um' verso.
