Engineer Lieutenant Herbert Allan Slade had been appointed to HMS Zulu on 7 December 1914 and transferred to HMS Cleopatra on 19 March 1915, which was building at Devonport. This page (page 19) in the album records that the photographs were taken while Zulu was refitting at Portsmouth, during which time Kathleen Taylor and Herbert Slade were married on 15 March 1915 at St. James' Church, Milton, Portsea.
