Seascape near the Tropic of Cancer
A sketch showing a sailing ship on the horizon, near the Tropic of Cancer. Everett has used colour and simple shapes to convey the effect of a calm sea. The ship is shown as a dark silhouette against a paler sky. There is a dark wash-line where sea and sky meet. The waves on the water are reduced to a series of uneven curved shapes of mauve tones. The sketch is inscribed '24 N 31 W' top right.
