A flute with anchor catted

A light sketch with a dark dry medium, this drawing shows a starboard view of a merchant flute. The ship’s bow and stern, and the position of its anchors are relatively well defined, the hull, the position of the masts and other details on board are a merely suggested with the minimum line.

The drawing is inscribed in brown ink in the lower left: ‘W.V.V J’.
