The Erebus passing through the chain of bergs, 13 Mar 1842
Technique includes scratching out. The Erebus is shown with the Terror when, during the Antarctic expedition in 1842 commanded by Captain James Clark Ross, they forced their way through the ice pack. The artist, John E Davis, was 2nd Master of the Terror.
