Hand-coloured.; Plate no.1 from 'The Experimental Squadron : a series of drawings on stone by L. Haghe, from paintings by J.M. Gilbert illustrative of H.M. visit to Spithead, July 15, 1845'. Note that Grove, the co-publisher, as well as Gilbert, the artist, were both Lymington-based and that this series also saw a second edition in 1846.
