The Battle of Trafalgar, 21 October 1805
Oil painting, formerly classed as 'British School' but fairly clearly Italian - at least in terms of place of production - from the long Italian inscription describing the action at the bottom. It is probably by a 'pierhead' souvenir painter in an Italian seaport, Naples being a possibility from Nelson's former connections there. [PvdM 2/18]
