Sketch of H.M.S. Leander

This annotated pencil drawing depicts the ‘Leander’ (1848), 4th rate, two-decker, 50 guns, which was built at Portsmouth Dockyard in 1848. She is shown from the starboard stern quarter. This pencil drawing probably dates to about November 1849 like the next sketch in the artist’s book IV, which is also of ‘Leander’ and is dated (PAH4410).
