Admiral Sir Hugh Palliser (1723-1796)
A half-length portrait showing Palliser seated slightly to the right in a red chair wearing his admiral's full dress uniform, 1787-95, and a white wig. In his right hand he holds a gold-headed stick with gold tassels; behind him is a red curtain which is pulled away at the left side, revealing one of the domes of Greenwich Hospital beyond his chair.
