The brig Brazil Packet
Oil painting depicting the Brazil Packet (1828), from two views: starboard side in foreground, and back and port side in background on the right. She is presented off South Foreland, with a deal lugger coming alongside. She is heavily canvassed, as with many brigs in the Post Office service. Harry Parker suggests a date of c.1830 for the painting in his records of the Macpherson Collection. The Brazil Packet is recorded in Lloyd's Register as commanded by W. Crow until, after 1838/9, she disappears from the register. After 1836/7 no details of her employment are given.
