The Dutch fleet before the wind, May? 1672

Viewed from the port beam, the divisions of Aert van Nes and Banckert before the wind. On the right is a port bow view of the ‘Oudshoorn’ (ex ‘Swiftsure’). On the ship’s starboard beam there is a flag with a pendant at the fore. Van Nes in the ‘Eendracht’ is seen in the left background. In the foreground is a broadside view of Van de Velde’s galjoot.
