The four-masted barque 'Lyndhurst'
A starboard broadside view of the ‘Lyndhurst’ under full sail. The 'school' of this painting has been questioned as possibly Chinese, based on the manner apparently 'junk-like' vessel in the right distance. There is the appearance of a European rock-lighthouse also there under the ship's bow: this may be a painting effect, but closer examination is needed to resolve these matters. [PvdM 2/21]
