Official ship's badge of HMS Oxley
Ship's badge of HMS 'Oxley' 1926. It is an official design, a diamond shape with a gold rope twist border, a naval crown above. 'OXLEY' is inscribed in the name tablet. The badge depicts the head of an ox in silver with gold horns on a green background. The pattern approved in October 1931. The badge is made of brass, painted and drilled for attachment. HMS 'Oxley' was an O-Class submarine, originally built for the Australian Navy . She was launched in 1926 and transferred to the Royal Navy in 1931. She was accidently sunk by HM Submarine 'Triton' off Norway in 1939.
