A carrack at sea
Oil painting. This painting has been connected on so-far uncrtain authority - with one of Everett's last voyages under sail, 1928-30, in the Danish 'Suzanne' to the West Indies. Any such ship he might have seen would have been a historical reconstruction, and none of that period are known, so it is more probably an exercise in historical imagination - possibly of Columbus's 'Santa Maria', since no such vessels existed later than the mid-1500s.
