The Essex is shown on the left of the picture, followed by the Lynn in the centre, and the Hampton Court at right. A number of small boats are shown, carrying British marines and soldiers to the French coast.

Inscribed: 'To Sir Thomas Stanhope Knt, Colonel in his Majesty’s Marine Forces, Commodore of the White Division of his Majesty’s Fleet before Belleisle who commanded the Attack at St Foy near Locmaria Point where the Landing was completed on ye 22nd of April 1761. This plate represent the Swiftsure, Essex, Hampton Court and Lynn, with a Body of Marines, Two Grenadeer Companies and a Detchment of the Royal Volunteers, Commencing the Attack and the Main Body coming round Locmaria-Point, to support them from Fort D’Arsic, where the real Landing was intended to have been made. Is most humbly inscribed by his most devoted Servant R Short. 1. The Superbe Commodore Keppel Commander in Chief, with the Transports and Main Body lying before Fort D’Arsic. 2. The Swiftsure Commodore Sr Thos Stanhope. 3. The Essex Captn. Schomberg. 4. The Hampton Court Captn. Scroope. 5. The Lynn Captn. Clarke. 6. St Foy the Place of the Attack and Landing. 7. The Boats coming round Locmaria Point with the Main Body from Fort D’Arsic.'
