A Prospect of the Town and his Majesty's Dockyard at Woolwich. Engraved for the London Magazine, 1756
Print, originally published in the 'London Magazine and apparently with a key, since there are key letters identifying features on it: 'y' is the parish church of St Mary's, built in 1734, with the buildings of the Royal Dockyard below it and to the right. Ships are being built on slips and in enclosed docks, or repaired in the latter. The view is taken from Gallion's Point on the opposite (north ) side of the river with a ketch-rigged royal yacht in the foreground and the dockyard sheer-hulk (for masting and dismasting ships) at far right.
